To ensure prompt shipping of FedEx Ground packages, locating a dropoff that has well defined and regular Ground pickups or handing them to a FedEx Ground Driver* is the approach. In your case, driver will drop them at a location that also happens to be a Ground nexus, but in other locations that may not be possible or may not be the local policy.ĭropping Ground packages in Express boxes or dropping them off at retail locations that don't have regular or don't have late in the day Ground pickups can/will result in shipping delays of a day or more. So what we learned here is that Ground packages are NOT supposed to go in Express Drop Boxes, and if they do, what happens next will depend on locale, temperament of the Express Pickup driver, and local FedEx policies.
